Mindful Magic is our mindfulness enrichment programme, we use nature and environmental concepts to help youths develop socio-emotional skills. Our lessons strengthen the ways in which young people develop positive relationships not just with themselves, but with others, and the environment too!
We’ve made this booklet to share some of the magic with you – in the pages to come you’ll find lesson ideas and resources from Pillar One of our curriculum; which focuses on building self-awareness and self-management skills, for children aged 7 to 9. We hope that the moments you create with the children you interact with will be memorable, meaningful, and full of mindful magic.
I - THE FEELINGS FOREST
- Join Mr. Mole on an exciting journey as he explores emotions through creativity and nature!
- Together, we learn to transform feelings like joy, sadness, and excitement into fun adventures.
II - LEAF YOUR TROUBLES BEHIND
- In this session, we join Mr. Mole in a mindful leaf-rubbing activity to manage overwhelming emotions.
- Engaging with the natural world nurtures our well-being and deepens our appreciation for the environment.
III - THE SERENE SCAVENGER
- Observe rustling leaves, chirping birds, and gentle breezes through a mindful scavenger hunt!
- When faced with large emotions, interacting with nature can provide a sense of peace and connection.
IV - BECOMING WIND-MASTERS
- As Mr Mole took deep breaths, he became curious about the wind around him! Where does it come from? What does it do?
- His exploration prompts him to create a paper windmill and deepen his breathing practice.
